Lubricants
The need for
Lubricants is an extensive conversation. There are so many out there and what kinds should you use, what kinds shouldn’t you use and should you use them at all?
As mentioned in my article about the Clitoris, you should always use lubricant for the benefit of the clitoris, if no other. Some women feel pain if their clitoris is not lubricated, so definitely use it for that!
Some women need an additional lubricant (other than natural) due to growing older, their natural lubricants can start to deplete. And then like it or not, if you
have been with a partner for a certain amount of time (different for all people), you may lose that natural wetness that comes from wanting to be with that partner.
But what kind? A natural silicone lubricant is awesome for sexual enjoyment. It needs less application and less reapplication. You can find some lubricants with a natural stimulant added that will allow the clitoris to tingle and awaken the nerve endings. Some women enjoy this, some do not. Finding out what your partner needs and desires takes communication.
Silicone lubricant is hard on toys however, so having a water based lubricant for your toys is necessary. Using a toy without lubricant can cause yeast infection, so this is not desirable and a lubricant should be bought for toys at the very least.
Then there is lube for anal sex which has a little desensitizer in it to help the anus relax for sex. Anal sex absolutely needs a lubricant. Don’t even go near that thing without it!
So practically speaking, I suggest lubricant to everyone who asks if they should use it. The kind you get can be trial and error. Some are sticky, some need applied more than others. Getting with a consultant is a great way to ease this process and get their opinion/preference. They will try different types or get customer feedback on what they
carry. This is their job, so let them do it and get ready for some awesome lubricated sex! Fill out our contact page to have a consultant contact you.
